Another Unknown White Flower

Unknown White Flower

This tiny white flower is, I believe, about the size of a pinky tip. I found it blooming in Mid-May in Southern Indiana and you can sort of see the shape of the leaf below. Only four petals on the flower.

Thoughts?

Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata). A very invasive plant in N.A. that is very difficult to get rid of. Apparently it is not invasive in Europe where it came from.

Man! Do you know these off the top of your head or do you have some good resource?

Thanks, again, OW.

Tell him what he's won, Johnny!

So does that mean we should "pick" this one, OW? ;)

Nice quote and photo, Dan. It's always good to see you.

Just read this about Garlic Mustard in NCAP's newsletter:

"Garlic mustard is a
biennial and it spreads only
by seed. If the plants are
consistently pulled before they go to seed,
the seeds will be depleted within five to 10
years."

Hi Dan,

I know a fair number of wild flowers "off the top of my head," although sometimes, these days, as I am getting older, they slip off at times. I've been looking at wild flowers for aboout 60 years and leading wild flower walks for 27 years and volunteering in a herbarium a half day a week for about 10 years so I have picked up a bit of knowledge along the way. I am still learning but willing to share what I know when I can.
