Young Explorers

Anyway, thought I'd share a photo of some young adventurer friends of mine and a quote, just to let you know I'm still around...

You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.

Glad to hear from you, Dan. Good to be out in the world when it's Spring.

It's been a cool and damp week up here in the Berkshire and Litchfield Hills, even had a hard from last week, but the woods are filled with Trillium, Dutchman's Britches, Blootroot past flower and the next movement on the way (yellow ladyslippers in the fens and in a corner of my garden). Had grounded Black and Turkey vultures all around the house today until the clouds lifted. Strange to see them hanging out by the bird feeders.

Hey Dan,
Thanks for the cheery hello & great quote. :)

Tim, It's good to see you too. Your neighborhood sounds about like mine. Yesterday, I found some hepatica and spring beauties tucked in the carpet of blooming white trillium. Trout lilies abound, along with smiles. It's spring.

Great to see you both.

Hi Dan, Great to hear from you (and also Lené and greenmantim). I love that quote, too. Thanks for the photo - it's lovely to see the children out exploring in your beautiful green country. The duties of adulthood certainly have seeped in lately to crowd out most of my days and tend to keep me in the bustling city.

I guess we're pretty much in summer here in the southwest, with daytime temps in the 90's. Our spring wildflowers have come and gone. The saguaros are starting to bloom - circlets of white flowers on the tips of their tall branches. Our prickly pear are in full bloom: yellow, pink, orange. And the low hillsides are ablaze in blooming yellow palo verde trees. All hot colours for a hot climate.
